Meet Ryan Mackenzie

When it comes to fighting for American freedoms and helping others, Ryan Mackenzie has had some great teachers.

A 9th generation resident of the Lehigh Valley, Ryan’s first ancestor to settle in our area fought in the Northampton County Militia during the Revolutionary War. In more recent generations, his family members helped build companies like Hercules Cement, served our country in both World Wars, and served our community here at home in professions like nursing and teaching.

It’s that spirit of service that inspired Ryan to fight back against the Far Left here in Pennsylvania. Ryan faced an all-out assault by the abortion industry in his first race, and he beat them back. Rush Limbaugh said of Ryan: “Planned Parenthood took it on the chin … Mackenzie won by an 18-point margin.”

In Pennsylvania’s state capitol, Ryan is known by conservatives and feared by the establishment as one of the most effective and proven reformers in government. Ryan didn’t just talk – he got our values enacted into law.

Ryan has been fighting for Pennsylvania taxpayers for a long time. He led efforts that saved us $400 million per year through conservative reforms at the Department of Labor & Industry, and saved us another nearly $60 million by smartly refinancing debt that we would pass on to our children and grandchildren. It’s no surprise that Americans for Prosperity named Ryan a “Taxpayer Hero” and a Policy Champion.

Pennsylvania workers and veterans know Ryan will always have their back. He led reform on unemployment compensation, workers’ comp, workforce development, and other areas of labor law. Ryan received the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business and was honored by both the U.S. Department of Defense and Lehigh Valley Chapter 190 Military Order of the Purple Heart for his work helping service members and their families.

Ryan has served on state and federal boards for economic development, workforce development, and environmental protection. President Trump appointed Ryan to serve on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Local Government Advisory Committee and as a commissioner on the President's Commission on White House Fellowships.

Ryan is a local guy who has made the Lehigh Valley proud. After graduating from Parkland High School near the top of his class, he received his undergraduate degree, with honors, in Finance and International Business from New York University, and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Involved in several charities and nonprofit organizations in our community, Ryan currently serves on the executive council of the Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, previously served the board of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the boards of other non-profits that provide affordable housing for seniors and helped individuals with special needs.

Ryan and his wife, Chloe, make their home in Lower Macungie Township with their rescue hound dog, Ruckus.
